In Memory of Diana: Support for Kristi Evans

Hello all. My name is Julie Carmichael. Kristi Evans has been dear and special friend to me, even in the very short time I have known her. Please join me in helping her as she lays her mother, Diana to rest, after a sudden and unexpected passing.
I met Kristi at work as a dental hygienist. She was one of my patients at a new office I started working at, here in the Santa Ynez Valley. During our appointment we discovered that we both lived in Los Alamos. She told me that she moved from Texas several years ago to care for her mother and was her full-time caretaker. A few weeks later, I invited her to join me in local's night pot-luck only to discover that she was to have a surgical procedure performed on her own back during that time.
She told me that she has suffered for years with many health issues herself, the most debilitating stemming from a fall years before. She had been in and out of the hospital and had been out of work off and on for years since her ongoing ailments prevented her from having a regular job. I offered to help do what I could for her knowing her mother also had some health limitations and couldn't take care of most of their necessary household tasks. Before her surgery, I met Diana, got to know their sweet rescue pup Charlie and soon began picking up their mail and helping with little chores in their home that neither were able to do. It was my pleasure to help and a wonderful friendship began.
I got to know them both as marvelously kind, Godly women with servant's hearts. They welcomed me into their home with open arms. I know Kristi to be selfless and caring. She will never ask for anything for herself, but always wants to help others. Diana's silly (warped) sense of humor always made everyone laugh. She was known in our community and to friends for the love she showed to everyone she met and in everything she did. She loved her craft projects and celebrated the holidays with decorations throughout her home, and gifts she loved to make for others. She loved her friends. Many of Kristi's friends loved her like another mother. Her love for her daughters and her grandchildren was apparent in her daily life and she spoke of the joy they all brought her. She was humble and kind and altogether lovely.
In the past couple of weeks Diana's health became worse. She was in and out of the hospital due to worsening complications with her kidneys, heart and lungs. She took a sudden and unexpected decline in the last few days shocking her family and friends with an unbelievable loss. In the early morning hours of October 8th, with Kristi by her side, she took her last breath.
I write this in Diana's honor and to ask for help for Kristi as she is navigates this sudden loss and unexpected financial burden. I pray this help will ease her suffering as she settles accounts, makes housing repairs and changes, and pays for medical and funeral expenses. For years, Kristi has dedicated her life to Diana's care. The love she so willingly gives to so many others, would be such a blessing, in return.
If you find it in your heart to help, Kristi and those who love her, would appreciate your kindness. God bless you.
