Devin passed away unexpectedly after courageously battling kidney failure at Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Alberta, at age 32 on June 7, 2024.

Dear friends, family, and community,

My name is Kaley Lyle, and I am reaching out to you on behalf of Devin's younger siblings during this incredibly difficult time. They are facing unexpected financial burdens and could use our support.

-Dakota, Dustin, Devin & Dalton

I would like to share more about Devin’s life with you all,

Devin faced significant health challenges from a young age, including Type-1 Diabetes and subsequent heart complications, which led to advanced kidney disease and ultimately heart failure.

He was the eldest of his brothers, Dustin and Dalton, and his sister Dakota. Despite the hardships they faced growing up, their separation during childhood and estrangement from their parents, they always found comfort and support in each other. Over the past decade, Devin's younger brother Dustin has been by his side as a loving and dedicated caregiver, a testament to their enduring bond.

Devin courageously confronted Renal Failure the last 7 years and had to attend Dialysis four times a week. He often depended on his brother Dustin for transportation to and from places, due to health complications including cataracts, which severely affected his vision, infections in his hemodialysis access and recurrent hospitalizations in recent years, ending tragically with heart failure.

Devin was a warrior and will be deeply missed.

Kaley and Devin

I had the privilege of knowing Devin over the past six years while he shared a home with Dustin, and his presence will be deeply missed. Devin had a way of making ordinary moments unforgettable, whether it was the remnants of his sandwich adventures on the counter or the eclectic mix of country and rap music resonating from his room. We bonded over our mutual love for country music, often trading our latest song finds with each other.

Devin had a remarkable sense of humor that could brighten even the darkest days. I'll always cherish the memory of his quick wit and the way he could effortlessly lighten the mood with a well-timed joke, at the time of his diagnosis he joked his kidneys were packed and off on a tropical getaway.

While Devin faced significant health challenges during his time with us, his resilience and spirit were truly inspiring. His journey may have been marked by pain, but I take solace in knowing that he has found peace and is now reunited with loved ones who have gone before him. I believe that one day, we will meet again on that distant shore.

Devin, you will forever remain in our hearts. Your laughter, kindness, and the memories we shared will continue to bring us comfort and strength. Rest in peace, dear friend.

With love and remembrance,
Kaley
