In memory of David Putnam

In October of last year, David Putnam, my brother-in-law, husband to my sister Trish, and one of the most important people in my life, suddenly and tragically, passed away. A Cardiologist by trade, an inspirational Father to his 3 children, a bee keeper, an avid hiker, and a member of the local fire department, he was one of the most prolific individuals to anyone that came to know him.
So, in honor of his life, I, and two of my long time friends that I've known since high school, will ride our touring bicycles from Albany to Buffalo, over 400 miles in 6 days, following the Erie Canal Heritage Trail. Our bike trip will begin August 29, 2020.

UPDATE (9/9/20):
The ride by bike across New York on the Erie Canal Heritage trail was a huge success and a lot of fun! The trail is wonderful in all area's and they are working more to connect the trail through the cities of Syracuse, Utica, and Rome, like they have already in Albany, Rochester, and Buffalo. The weather could not have been better and at times, we felt like we were the only ones on the trail for miles. Truly a memorable experience. Thanks to the Elsmere Fire Department for giving us a great "proper" send off (see American Flag pictures). David would have loved it!
