Hello everyone. Our father/stepfather, David James Pate, passed away on August 8, 2025, after two lengthy hospital stays. I, his daughter, Amanda, am starting this fundraiser to help ease the financial burden of his medical and end-of-life expenses on our mother, Rebecca. She has lost the love of her life and best friend of more than 45 years. Her heart is broken, but she finds comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering.
My siblings and I ask that you please consider donating if you are able. If you want to help but prefer not to do so online, you can contact me for her address to send cards, letters, pictures, or memorial contributions. If you are not able to donate, we ask that you please keep our family, especially Mom, in your prayers.
We would also like to give a heartfelt "Thank You" for the many prayers and kind words already sent. It really does mean so much to all of us who loved and were loved by him.
DAVID JAMES PATE
March 31, 1956 - August 8, 2025
Beloved husband of Rebecca (Becky) Ball-Moore-Pate for 46+ years, father of 4, stepfather, grandfather of 7, and blessed to have been able to meet his first great-grandchild. He also left a loving sister, Barbara, in-laws, and many extended family members. He was an avid cyclist and camper, making friends across the U.S. He was an exceptional auto parts salesman for many years, working at Hampton Auto Supply, Sieg's, Mason City Auto Supply, Midwest Wheel, and Outlaw Truck Parts before retiring. He passed from complications due to COPD and pneumonia on August 8th. He was preceded in death by his parents, James & Shirley, and a sister, Sharon.
Additionally, we're aware of the fact that he touched more lives during his time here on Earth than we even know. He made many friends during his travels and throughout his career... we thank you all for enriching his life.
Sincerely,
Amanda
