Dear friends, family, and kind members of the community,

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the devastating news of the passing of our beloved uncle, David Long, who was 76 years old. David passed away on November 23, 2025, from injuries sustained in a tragic incident that occurred two days earlier, on November 21.

For many years, David served our community with dedication and kindness as a local locksmith. On that difficult day, he was critically injured while performing his professional duties alongside local law enforcement officers Sergeant Terri Mashkow and Deputy Arizpe. David’s passing comes after Sergeant Mashkow also tragically lost her life in the same incident, and as Deputy Arizpe continues his recovery. Our hearts go out to their families as well.

David was a man known for his dedicated service, gentle spirit, and kind demeanor. He was a cherished figure in our lives and in the community he served. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

As we navigate this unimaginable loss, we are setting up this fund to help cover the costs of funeral expenses, medical bills, and to provide support for his immediate family during this challenging time. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help ease the financial burden that comes with such a sudden and tragic loss.

We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support and love we have already received. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us.
