On May 15th, David Clark entered the hospital for surgery to correct a herniated disc. On May 21st, we lost David to complications from that surgery. The intention of this fundraiser is to raise money for his medical and funeral expenses. 

No other way of putting it: David Clark was a living legend. A formerly obese alcoholic and fast-food junkie, Dave lost 150 lbs when he got sober and became an elite athlete, completing some of the toughest endurance races on the planet. Among his many outlandish adventures, David did ten epic events in one year to celebrate his tenth year of sobriety. This mind-bending year of running included running the Boston Marathon four times in one day, running 343 laps around a high school track and running 48 hours on a treadmill. His tenth year of sobriety culminated in one of the most epic Badwater 135 race experiences ever told.

Dave was a father of three, an accomplished endurance athlete, a practicing Buddhist and die-hard New York Rangers Fan. He was the author of the bestselling book Out There: A Story of Ultra Recovery as well as Broken Open and his diet book, Eat Shit and Die. Dave was the host of The WeAreSuperman Podcast and the admissions director for Mountain Peak Recovery. He was featured on CBS, ABC, ESPN, Runners World, Men's Health and many other national media outlets. David had been sober since 2005.
