Dave Schellhardt, passed away on September 30, 2026, from progressive symptoms of Lewy body dementia (LBD).

He was diagnosed with LBD in 2023. By 2025 the disease had progressed and required full-time professional assistance. He spent the last 18 months of his life at Cedar Glen Memory Care Home in Potomac, Md.

Moving a loved one into the care of others is not an easy decision to make, but the Cedar Glen team proved time and time again that our family made the best decision for Dave’s needs. We are eternally grateful for the genuine care and compassion their staff showed Dave and our family throughout this incredibly difficult transition.

In lieu of flowers, we are requesting that donations be made to Cedar Glen Memory Care Home in Dave’s honor. This money will help ensure that they are able to continue providing an outstanding level of care to their patients and families.
