I truly wish this wasn't why many of you are having to hear from me, but unfortunately it is with a extremely broken, heavy heart I have to let you know that we had to say goodbye to my mom yesterday morning
Over the last few years many of you know it was a on going battle. she was struggling with having been tragically diagnosed with Interstitial Lung Disease which is already a rough one to live with but unfortunately it was only made harder as she was also diagnosed with COPD not long after, and diabetes not long before that, it was.. a very tragic hand to have been dealt, and sadly it had all just.. become too much for her body to handle.
I do absolutely want to assure everyone though, while she had been in and out of the hospital many times over the last few months, during her last couple days she wasn't in any pain and she didn't pass suffering, she passed we like to believe peacefully and surrounded by love. She wanted to go at home with her family, her "things" as she put it; silly little trickents she collected, she loved them, and her dogs which we made sure happen. We were her everything, just as she was ours and while not only this, but having watched her decline over the last few years was extremely hard, I would like to take the time to help you guys remember her, or for some, get to know her all together like we did.
To begin with, her name was Darlynda Marie Barnes, many interpret her name to mean "beloved and beautiful", and some " Cherished gentleness" and I think both describe her amazingly; she was Kind, caring, and endlessly giving if she could do something to help someone else, wither it be a couple dollars to the homeless or some random little gift she saw at the store she thought you'd like, just because, or even a little creation she made that's what made her happy was knowing those around her were happy.
She was also such an incredibly silly girl, I remember back when she could stay awake long enough to watch shows together, as we often did every night before she got too sick, we didn't spend much of it not laughing our butts off at each other, she was particularly good at making us feel better if anything was bothering us, that's simply who she was, she was a fixer, and in return we were hers. If i ever went to her with silly teenage things she without complaint listened as i ranted and gave me the best advice she could, and make sure i was laughing by the end of it
She loved everything pink and adored anything girly, but it couldn't be TO girly, she adored her stuffed animals and gave every single one a name, even if she never could decide on one for her baby doll, she liked doing anything creative and would listen to her 80s music all day blasting through the house if you'd let her, but one of the things i think she loved the most was making friends, and she was amazing at it.
Over all she was just an amazing, unforgettable person who brought light and happiness to everyone who knew her and if you had the fortunate honor of being one who did I know you'd agree. Unfortunately however her passing has come much sooner then we were expecting, we were told we had at least 6 months still left with her and the suddenness along with her being in and out of the hospital so much has left us in financial hardship and that's where we have to ask for anyone's help
It's not something we ask easily, and just having taken the time to have read and gotten to learn about her would have meant the world to her as it does us. But if you are able to contribute, even a small amount, me and my family would be endlessly grateful, it was her last wish to be able to be cremated to be placed on the mantle along side my father and we are hoping as long as anyone is able to be able to give that to her and honor her last wish.
From the bottom of our hearts I want to thank you for taking the time to read all this and letting me express just a little bit of just how amazing she was, she truly was one of a kind and words cannot express how much we're already missing her
So thank you in advance and until we meet again mom, Goodbye, be careful we love you <3
** I would also like to note that the 14th isn't the official funeral date, that date for that at this time is unknown as is it unknown if we can have an official funeral at this time, while we would like to, but for now we're just focused on her wish to be cremated and reunited with my dad I will have more information on it and prices when we talk to them tomorrow November 3rd thank you so much for your understanding and i will keep everyone updated <3 <3 **
