In memory of Darcy
Donation protected
This is Darcy, a beautiful 6 year old girl. Tragically and suddenly earlier this week she passed away, leaving behind her devastated parents and newborn baby sister.
From her birth Darcy has had it tough, born with a very serious heart condition and many other physical challenges. She has been in and out of hospital constantly for operations and consultations.
She faced these obstacles with the utmost bravery and fought her way through every time defying the odds stacked against her. Some would say she was a miracle child, myself included.
Darcy was in pain so frequent she became very resilient to it, she would never moan or fuss, just got on with whatever needed doing, her pain threshold was so high that often it would go unnoticed.
She was very compassionate towards others and very caring which I believe to being down to all the time she spent as the patient, I think she wanted to give back whenever she could in whatever way she could.
She was so happy and appreciative of life, she smiled from ear to ear morning to night without exception.
She would enter any room oozing confidence and take centre stage every time, she loved playing to a crowd. Her infectious charm would bring cheer to all and she would instantly befriend anyone and everyone. Her manners were impeccable without any prompt from her parents, as a parent myself Darcy was the child that you wanted yours to be around only in the hope she may pass some of her character traits on. I learned a lot from Darcy and she was the true definition of a role model.
It’s pretty obvious that she will be sadly missed by many, although we are very grateful and thankful for her short existence.
This horrific tragedy was unexpected and the family were not prepared mentally or financially.
Please find it in your hearts to help the family through the struggle, after all this is not your regular fundraiser. This is every parents worst nightmare.
Any donation great or small would be most appreciated and will hopefully accumulate to covering the costs of a final farewell and a special memorial for this extraordinary little girl.
I am trying to raise these funds to donate to the family as they are far too proud to ever ask for help.
They are very charitable and generous themselves and after individually fundraising, they have managed to raise very needed funds to numerous charities and hospitals.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
