In Memory of Daniel Ray Jolley
Donation protected
My Uncle, Daniel Ray Jolley, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in August 2019. Although it was going to be an uphill battle he handled the news with courage and determination.
He endured 8 rounds of chemo before opting for major surgery to remove the mass in February 2020. After recovery from surgery he would finish out his 4 additional chemo rounds. Due to the position of the mass, it was a tricky procedure that lasted almost 12 hours. His surgeon was amazing and shortly after he got the news we were all hoping for...CANCER FREE! What a relief for my Uncle and our family.
His recovery from the surgery was challenging with multiple trips back to the hospital. Recurring fevers were a concern however in April he had a CT scan that came back clear. He would continue to recover at home with only select visitors due to COVID.
In June, after not being able to determine a cause of the ongoing fevers, he went in for another scan. This scan revealed his pancreatic cancer had metastasized to his liver.
After not even a year from original diagnosis, my Uncle lost his battle with cancer on July 2, 2020.

About my Uncle Dan:
Dan LOVED his children, grandchildren and family.
Dan was the proud owner of Me Hair Design located in downtown Portland, OR for 40 + years. His client base was large and loyal.
Dan was also a gifted musician. His instrument of choice was the guitar. He and his band, Toledo Kesch, a blues based Rock n' Roll band played together for years. Dan loved music. It was his passion.

Dan was expecting to make a full recovery from his pancreatic cancer surgery and carry on with life. There must've been a greater plan for him.
I've established this GoFundMe to help with medical financial responsibilities and end of life expenses.
Any donations, shares, thoughts or prayers are very much appreciated during this difficult time.
Celebration of life details to be determined at a later date.
A very special thank you to everyone on Dan's cancer team at
Portland Providence Medical Center.
