Daniel James Kenneth Moroz, age 25 years, passed away on Friday, Sept. 24/21, in a tragic motor vehicle accident caused by a reckless driver.
Daniel’s infectious smile and genuinely kind heart left a lasting impression on those who knew him. His love for his family, music and animals will forever be remembered. The music community will miss his talented drumming skills as he was part of many local bands.
In Daniel's memory, we are hosting a series of walks and hikes in the upcoming weekends where friends, family or anyone who would like to join is encouraged (information on the walks to follow below). We hope to raise money for the Humane Society of Thunder Bay in memory and honor of the loving, caring and giving person Daniel always was, especially when it came to animals. He had a great love for all animals, especially his own. Growing up, he had many dogs; when Daniel decided to get his own home, he and his girlfriend got their dog, Ren. Ren traveled everywhere with the two of them, going to family dinners, visiting family on lakeshore, spending summers at shebandowan lake and exploring many different trails in the area. Daniel and Ren shared a special bond, the two of them would spend lots of time in the garage with friends. Daniel would bring her in there while listening to his favorite music, Led Zeppelin. Ren would also spend lots of time in the garage watching Daniel play drums and work on vehicles.
Daniel, his girlfriend Andrea and Ren spent lots of time together outdoors and shared a love for animals. We have decided to organize a fundraiser for the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society. The Thunder Bay & District Humane Society relies solely on donations, we have decided for the next month, starting on Daniel's 26th birthday, April 24th, until May 24th, to raise money. The memorial walks will begin on April 30th and continue every weekend until May 28th. The walks and hikes will be held at locations in the Thunder Bay Area that Daniel, his girlfriend and his dog often explored.
The family greatly appreciates all donations, and we know Daniel would appreciate everyone's support for the humane society. A tax receipt can be issued for donations of $20 or more. If you would like a tax receipt, please reach out to us. The following walks are raising the money for the humane society, getting outdoors, and sharing our love for Daniel and the animals. We have set up a Facebook page (linked below) with detailed descriptions of the walks and hikes' times, locations, and dates.
