In Memory of Cindy Martel (Sittser)

On Friday, February 25, the Dunsmuir community suffered a great loss when beautiful Cindy Martel passed away just 9 days short of her 60th Birthday. Cindy always had her friends' backs, and she always was up for helping folks quietly and on the down-low, which was so unlike her personality and infectious sense of humor and laugh. In CIndy, those qualities were bigger than life. We are all reeling from this sudden and tragic loss.

This Go Fund me was started as a way for Cindy's lovely family to gain some support with funeral expenses and to find some closure. They want the community to know they are holding strong and are greatly comforted by the community's support and warm embrace. They want to thank everyone for rallying around them.

A Celebration of life will be held at Pops Performing arts and Cultural Center (5819 Sacramento Avenue, Dunsmuir) on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 3:00 pm.

The family would like to invite everyone to come and share a fond memory of Cindy.

Family was the primary focus in Cindy's life. She leaves behind her mother, June, three siblings (Debbie, Vickie and Gary), son Brad, daughter Kayla, and the apple of her eye....six-year old Maddison.

Cindy was born in Oregon, the youngest of four. She later moved to the SF Bay Area with her mom and siblings where she was raised. She had her kids there, and then moved up to Mount Shasta where she would spend the next 31 years. She loved more than anything, being a mother and a grandmother. The light that shone from her when she was with her family and loved ones, made it so clear what made her happiest. And when life threw “shit” at her, she threw it back twice as hard. She enjoyed being by the river, and more so the ocean. She made the best food and baked goods, all the while making the task look effortless. The everlasting mark on the hearts she touched will never be forgotten. Her beauty, integrity, her smile, and the resilience within her will be remembered eternally.
