Hello, my name is Alberto. I am the husband of Christina Renee Dominguez, the strongest and smartest woman I have ever met. Christina R. Dominguez transition on July 30, 2024 after a strong battle with cancer (full story at the bottom) leaving behind her family and loving husband. She was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer back in December of 2021 (Leiomyosarcoma affecting the Ovaries, liver, and lungs), soon after her initial diagnosis, her medical team thought she wouldn't be able to survive for a year, but since it was a new and rare cancer, they would treat her even though she was at stage four. They started with the first chemo treatment that lasted for a year. It seemed to work, the treatment began erasing the tumors in her liver and shrinking the ones in her kidneys, but that treatment almost killed her and the doctors had to switch to a different one. After surviving year one and proving all those doctors wrong, Christina moved on to treatment number two known as the “Red Devil” That's what they called the chemotherapy that she was going to begin. Unfortunately, the Red Devil had no effect on the cancer so they switched the cocktail and made it stronger and more potent, but that didn't work either. So now the doctors decided to treat her with chemo pills and no more cocktails but that had no effect on the cancer, in fact, the tumors came back affecting her liver and the ones in her kidney got bigger. Then year two comes and she was still here. Trying to live life as normal as she could with her friends and family. New year, new doctors, new treatment. After months of the treatment and showing no positive results, doctors decided that if they continue with any other chemo, it would kill her. It would be best if they just tried to control the pain that she was feeling for the remaining time she had. On July 3, 2024 her husband was told that she would not make it through the Fourth of July weekend, he decided to stop working to be at her side. Once again she proved them wrong by lasting all 4 weekends of the month of July. At this time I am asking for any amount you could contribute. Anything would make a significant difference. If you are unable to donate, your thoughts and prayers are equally appreciated. Sharing this page with your friends and family would also mean the world to me. Thank you for taking the time to read our story, and for any support you can offer during this difficult time. I will be forever grateful for your kindness and compassion. With gratitude, Alberto.
