In Loving Memory of Christian Camille Ortiz

Hello, my name is Rayown Clark, and this is our daughter, Christian Camille Ortiz.

The last week in May 2023 my daughter came home to Florida to visit before she went to travel across the country to Arizona to meet up with friends.

On Friday, May 26, my wife and I found out that our daughter had passed away in Tijuana, Mexico.

Due to the Memorial Day weekend, we were unable to contact the Embassy for help in finding out about where our daughter was and what happened to her until the following Tuesday.

Prior to speaking to the Embassy, we found out about a person who traveled with Christian and who was with her the entire time, had awakened from a two-day coma and suffering from third degree burns in a hospital in Tijuana. The person was able to give us information about our daughter and described what had happened the day of the tragic incident.

We're very grateful to God, that the individual came out of the coma, otherwise only The Lord knows when or if we would have ever found out about our daughter's death.

We had received a deadline from the coroner's office to submit our daughter's required documents they requested. We had to quickly fly to Atlanta and Ohio to retrieve those documents, before we headed to San Diego, then to Tijuana.

After all the obstacles and mishaps, we have just recently received our daughter back in the US, here in Jacksonville, FL.

We regret having such tragic information to share, and the emotional and financial burdens have been great.

We are reaching out through GoFundMe organization and are humbly asking friends, family, and others to kindly assist us in acquiring funds to meet the needs of expenses pertaining to the loss of our loving daughter, Christian Camille Ortiz.
