In Memory of Chris Green:
Support His Family as His Widow, Dorys (Faithful Wife of 48 years), is Now Battling Her Own Cancer Diagnosis...

For almost a decade, Chris Green - a faithful believer in Christ, dedicated husband, caring father, and the friendliest angel to everyone with whom his life was blessed to cross paths - fought a courageous battle against cancer. His wife, Dorys, was a pillar of love and support for him; she directed all of her efforts and spared no resource, in partnership with her husband of 48 years, to obtain his healing.

After several years of fending off the advancement of the cancerous cells in his earthly body, the cancer began to overtake his medical treatments. Their son Chris, Jr., then increased his commitment to the care and support of his father. As a direct result of taking time to assist his parents when they needed him most, he was terminated from his employment; Chris Jr. is not only his father's namesake, they also share bountiful, helping hearts.

On July 16, 2023, the beloved son of God, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to so many, Chris Green, passed from earthly life to eternal life. At the time of his passing, his wife and best friend of 48+ years was left to celebrate his life and grieve the loss of his earthly absence, while dealing with the substantial financial toll of his prolonged illness and the crippling household impact of being immediately reduced to only one social security income (with their savings/retirement funds depleted and their son, Chris Jr., having lost his employment, as an Information Technology professional, due to his dedication in physically assisting his father when his mother could not.)

For the past two years, being widowed and financially drained, Dorys (and Chris Jr.) did their best to continue on with too few resources and too many lingering bills and mounting expenses. Trusting in God to meet their needs and not wanting to burden other people with requests for financial support, they quietly struggled to rise above the overload. (Chris Jr.’s professional IT employment search has been more than grueling, and he has worked every delivery job he could in the meantime - even being down to one family car after Chris Jr.’s car was totaled in an accident during a delivery.) And things only got harder…

Dorys was diagnosed with cancer. And now is facing the challenging journey ahead with her faithful son, Chris Jr., by her side, but with not enough resources to between the two of them to make ends meet. While we cannot take away the challenges brought on by Dorys’ health obstacles, we are raising funds to bring their rent and utilities current in order to maintain housing and to contribute to their moving expense fund for their new beginning.

While the ultimate Good News is Jesus Christ being the Savior of the world, there is personal good news for Dorys and Chris Jr. too… They have not given up the hope that God can heal both physically and financially (and He can use all of our willing hearts to help them, as much as we are led and able). They are planning to move to a more affordable location with a first-floor unit (currently they remain in a 3rd floor walk-up and know how difficult that was for Chris Sr.’s care). Also, in the anticipated move location, there are also significantly increased professional Technology employment opportunities for Chris Jr.!

Your generosity would be a meaningful tribute to Chris Sr.’s life and a powerful sign of support for Dorys (and Chris Jr.); as they continue to trust God to supply all of their needs (may the Lord bless them abundantly through us). Let’s contribute towards the hope and future awaiting them in their time of need; as they strategically plan to survive and then thrive - by planning out a self-sustaining future in a new location!

Thank you all for your desire and decision to contribute financial support. (Employment referrals for Chris Jr. are also very welcome - especially for remote work, if possible, as he is now his mother’s primary caretaker on her journey to defeat cancer.) Let’s help them rebuild, and we can imagine Chris Sr.’s warm smile of love and appreciation while we’re doing so!

God Bless. Glory, Glory!

*This Go Fund Me letter was created on behalf of our dearly loved Dorys Green. We requested that she post it on Go Fund Me herself & send the link to family & friends via her own email address so that her community of supporters would be assured that all funds contributed will be going directly to her and her alone.

**If you are seeing this Go Fund Me page online, praise God with us for giving her the courage to follow through! And again, thank you for joining with us to support her as a community of family, friends, and those who are grateful to be able to send a financial blessing her way.
