Michael Chad Foster’s journey on Carnival Sunrise Nov 10 through 15. My name is Angie Koontz, a friend of Chad Foster and Chad’s fiancé Amber Garrett. From day one on Carnival Sunrise, Chad was living his best life on the ship with old friends and many new friends that he met aboard the ship! If you knew or met Chad, I’m sure you know what a special man he was to many!
He enjoyed three beautiful days aboard the ship. His favorite journey on the cruise was going up to Mt. Zion and experiencing the Bob Marley tour with his beloved Amber! Although he loved his day in Jamaica, after returning back to the ship, Chad unfortunately suffered a brain aneurysm which eventually ended his life on November 14, 2025. We are thankful his last day was spent doing something he always wanted to do.
Chad was in medical all night and flown out when we reached the Caymans to a Miami hospital. Although he experienced exceptional care while on Carnival Sunrise, once he was taken to Miami, he passed on.
I am asking for any kind of donation in order to help pay Chad and Amber’s expenses. If you are unable to donate, please keep Amber and Chad's family in your prayers.
I would like to thank Carnival Sunrise, the passengers Chad met along his journey, and each and every one who asked and were concerned about Chad. Also, thank you to everyone who stopped us to pray and console us while we continued sailing back home without our beloved Chad. It meant so much to meet so many of you for the first time who loved Chad as if you had known him for life. A special thank you to all the medical staff who took such great care of him during this time. Thank you to guest services for going above and beyond for Amber and her friends. A big shout out to the Captain for taking time out of his busy schedule to visit and reassure Amber that the entire crew was there for her.
