In memory of Cecilia Gruvberg

Cecilia Gruvberg (born Lundberg) was more than a skilled water skier - she was a ray of sunshine on the water. With an infectious smile and a passion that shone through every wave, she inspired everyone around her. From her childhood joyous rides in the south Sweden to her successes on the national team and four years at University of Central Florida's team, water skiing was her lifeblood.

But life took a tragic turn. Four years ago, Cecilia was diagnosed with grade 4 glioblastoma, an aggressive brain tumor. Despite a heroic fight, she passed away far too early. But her spirit lives on, stronger than ever, in the hearts of her family and friends.

On March 28th, Cecilia would have turned 50, and now we invite you to be a part of her legacy. For the fourth year in a row, CC Memorial Foundation ("Stiftelsen Cecilia Gruvbergs Minnesfond") are awarding a scholarship in her name, supporting young, talented water skiers in Sweden. This is our way of honoring Cecilia’s memory and passing on her passion to the next generation.

Cecilia Gruvberg (född Lundberg) var mer än en skicklig vattenskidåkare – hon var en solstråle på vattnet. Med ett smittande leende och en passion som lyste igenom varje våg, inspirerade hon alla omkring sig. Från barndomens glädjefyllda åk på Ivösjön till framgångarna i landslaget och vid college i USA, var vattenskidor hennes livsluft.

Men livet tog en tragisk vändning. För fyra år sedan fick Cecilia diagnosen glioblastom grad 4, en aggressiv hjärntumör. Trots en heroisk kamp gick hon bort alldeles för tidigt. Men hennes anda lever vidare, starkare än någonsin, i hjärtat av hennes familj och vänner.

Den 28:e mars skulle Cecilia fyllt 50 år och nu bjuder vi in dig att vara en del av hennes arv. För fjärde året i rad delar Stiftelsen Cecilia Gruvbergs Minnesfond ut ett stipendium i hennes namn, som stöttar unga, talangfulla vattenskidåkare i Sverige. Detta är vårt sätt att hedra Cecilias minne och föra hennes passion vidare till nästa generation.
