It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and cousin, Carlos Segura Morelos, on January 2, 2026.

Carlos leaves behind his loving wife, Marina, and his two sons, Sebastian and Carlos Jr. He was the rock of our family, a provider, a protector, and a source of constant love and stability. He worked tirelessly to give his family a full and meaningful life, always putting their needs before his own.

Carlos was a hard worker from a young age, beginning his working life in the cornfields of Mexico during his early teens. That work ethic never left him. He always had a side project, a new idea, or something he was fixing around the house. He was the comedian at every gathering, the one who could make anyone laugh, and the person you went to when you needed real advice about life.

In the mornings, you could find him in his favorite spot on the couch, watching the morning news. In the evenings, he was often in the kitchen, cooking enough food for a large gathering, even if it ended up being just the four of us, because he was always hoping we’d invite more people over. He loved bringing people together.

Carlos had a deep love for his hometown of Mixtlán, Jalisco, Mexico, and could talk about it for hours if you gave him the chance. His absence has left an immeasurable pain in our family. He brought security, pride, and reassurance to all of us. He never admitted when something was wrong, because he believed it was his role to fix everything and take care of everyone.

We have created this GoFundMe to ask for any support you are comfortable giving to help the Segura/Lopez family lay Carlos to rest with the memorial he deserves, and to provide additional support for the family he leaves behind during this incredibly difficult time.

Con el corazón lleno de dolor, compartimos la repentina e inesperada partida de nuestro amado hijo, hermano, tío y primo, Carlos Segura Morelos, el 2 de enero de 2026.

Carlos deja a su amada esposa, Marina, y a sus dos hijos, Sebastian y Carlos Jr. Él fue el pilar de nuestra familia: proveedor, protector y una fuente constante de amor y estabilidad. Trabajó incansablemente para brindarle a su familia una vida plena y significativa, siempre poniendo sus necesidades antes que las suyas.

Carlos fue un trabajador incansable desde muy joven, comenzando su vida laboral en los campos de maíz en México durante su adolescencia. Esa ética de trabajo nunca lo abandonó. Siempre tenía un proyecto, una nueva idea o algo que estaba arreglando en la casa. Era el bromista en cada reunión, el que hacía reír a todos, y la persona a la que acudías cuando necesitabas un consejo sincero sobre la vida.

Por las mañanas, se le podía encontrar en su lugar favorito del sillón, viendo las noticias. Por las tardes, muchas veces estaba en la cocina preparando comida suficiente para una gran reunión, aunque al final solo estuviéramos los cuatro, porque siempre esperaba que invitáramos a más personas. Le encantaba reunir a la gente.

Carlos tenía un amor profundo por su pueblo natal, Mixtlán, Jalisco, México, y podía hablar de él durante horas si le dabas la oportunidad. Su ausencia ha dejado un dolor inmenso en nuestra familia. Él nos brindaba seguridad, orgullo y tranquilidad. Nunca admitía cuando algo estaba mal, porque sentía que su deber era arreglarlo todo y cuidar de los demás.

Hemos creado este GoFundMe para pedir humildemente cualquier apoyo que esté a su alcance, con el fin de ayudar a la familia Segura y López a despedir a Carlos con el homenaje que merece y brindar apoyo adicional a la familia que deja atrás durante este momento tan difícil.
