In Memory of Carlos Finol - Aid for Venezuela

In lieu of flowers and in memory of Carlos Finol, we are asking others to consider a monetary donation, of any amount, to provide humanitarian aid for Venezuelans in dire need.  The already desperate situation in Venezuela has been worsened by the COVID-19 Pandemic.  All funds collected will be used to provide resources such as food, medicine, medical equipment, basic necessities, and personal protective equipment to Venezuelans in need.  Carlos passed away tragically on January 7th, 2021 from COVID-19 and had no pre-existing conditions. Your contributions will help to prevent the spread of the virus, save lives, and provide food for those who are unable to provide for themselves.  To learn more about the need in Maracaibo, Venezuela  (where our family is from) watch this investigative report by French Journalists at France 24: https://youtu.be/XfvSfzCo_LU?t=15  "'We're starving to death': City of Maracaibo symbolizes Venezuela's collapse"

(Organizer: Maria Aranguren, Carlos' Daughter)

Carlos Jose Finol-Gonzalez was born in Lagunillas, Venezuela to Carmen Regina Gonzalez de Finol and Carlos Segundo Finol Moreno on August 1st of 1962.  Carlos married the love of his life Martha Cecilia Leon-Finol on August 15th of 1987.

Carlos was a devoted father and husband who always put the wellbeing of others before his own. He acted as a father to everyone he came across, and was happy to help and give advice to anyone who would listen. All of his nephews and young friends looked up to him as a father-figure, a mentor, and an inspiration. His happiness and light would fill every room he was in, and everyone that met him, no matter how long they knew him, fell in love with his energetic and vigorous personality.

Carlos was a devoted Catholic who loved getting involved with the community and touched hundreds of hearts along the way. He was always happy to volunteer and serve for the church regardless of the time or effort. Carlos and his wife loved traveling with their church and happily made three pilgrimages together: Italy (2015, Priest Silvio Ortiz) and Mexico (2017 and 2018, Priest Krikor “Greg” Chahinian).

Carlos was energetic and found joy in everything he did. He loved playing the drums and guitar, riding bicycles, model airplanes, watching movies and shows, dancing, partying and karaoke with the loudest music possible and any video game he could get his hands on. He always felt that any and all of his hobbies were made better by sharing them with his friends and family. Therefore, he made the effort to spend the most time he could with his loved ones by sharing his hobbies.

Carlos’ memories will live on through his beloved wife, Martha Leon-Finol, their children Carlos Felipe, Maria Fernanda, and Jose Alberto, along with his daughters and son in law Zharina Beatriz, Sergio Alonso, Claudia Cristina, his adored recently born grandson Sebastian Andres, and his favorite little white dog Zury. Carlos is also survived by his siblings Damary Chiquinquira, Dianely Alis, Cesar Enrique, and Armando Ocando.
