In Memory of Cameron Sinclair

Donation protected
On December 22, 2022, our dear friend and neighbor, Jennifer Cottell, and her family suffered the unexpected and most incomprehensible loss of their beloved son and brother, Cameron Sinclair. Cameron loved his younger siblings, Brandon and Madeline, dearly. He was only 19 years old and a freshman at Florida Gulf Coast University.

Cameron was always an extremely bright, independent, and strong child. He was curious about so many subjects; his mind was like a sponge, soaking up knowledge and information and details so rapidly. He could retain information so easily that he often aced tests with little or no studying. He was truly a brilliant mind, who was known to score perfectly on standardized tests. As an avid reader, he could and would regularly read a 500-page book in one day. He could talk about anything and everything in detail with anyone interested.

Born and raised in Metuchen, Cameron loved playing soccer for the Metuchen Travel Soccer Club, where he was a solid defensive player with tremendous kicks. He was genuinely connected to all animals, but especially to dogs. He loved dogs so much that he even took it upon himself to start an informal local dog-walking business in middle school. And when he was comfortable with you, he often shared his funniest sense of humor.

Although Jen would be the first to help anyone in need, she is a very private person by nature and would never ask a thing from anyone. For this reason, I am creating this page in memory of Cameron and on behalf of the family to help in any way possible, so that finances are the least of their worries during this devastating time.

Cameron’s beautiful soul and pure heart will be forever missed by all who were blessed to know him. No words could ever express the immeasurable pain his parents, younger brother and sister, and family are going through, but as a community, I hope we can wrap them in our love and support as they navigate their world without Cameron.

Please share your memories of Cameron here for the family to cherish and give if you are able.

I will update this page when details of Cameron’s memorial service are finalized. Thank you for your words and your support.
