In Memory of Caitlin McFarland

This fundraiser is to support the memory of Cait McFarland, MD — both to support her wife, Elisabeth, in planning her funeral and to establish seed funding to honor Cait’s memory and commitment to LGBTQI+ patients and research. Details to follow for the exact structure of her legacy memorial as Elisabeth takes her own time to grieve and decide. The amount “goal” is arbitrary as all funds will go to these efforts. 

Cait was abruptly taken from this world on December 7th, 2022 in a car accident on her way to work.

If you knew Cait a little, you knew her all the way. She lived with earnest passion and generosity for her community, her church, and her patients. And if you’ve ever heard Cait laugh, you can probably hear it again right now. Her death is a loss to all of us, to her patients, and to the discipline of psychiatry. We miss her tremendously.
