A Walk from Larne to Lavey
Eamonn McCrystal, better known as Buffer, tragically passed away on June 5th 2023 as a result of a sudden brain aneurysm. Buffer was a kind, crazy, legend of a man and he is sorely missed by all who knew him.
He grew up in Lavey, Co.Derry and later moved to Glasgow, Scotland. Every weekend he made the trip home on the boat to Ireland to see his friends and family.
On Saturday 3rd August, Buffer’s sister Maureen and niece Maeve are taking on the challenge of walking from the port of Larne to Buffer’s house in Lavey. A huge 35 miles!! This is the journey Buffer made every Friday after getting the P&O ferry from Scotland.
The money raised will be split between 2 charities: The Brain Charity and Granaghan Outreach. The Brain Charity help people with all forms of neurological conditions to lead longer, healthier, happier lives. Granaghan Outreach are a charity based in South Derry, which Buffer donated very generously towards. They are currently raising money to build a classroom in Kenya in early September.
We are so grateful for any support you can give!
