In Memory of Bruce Trager

Donation protected
On Wednesday, October 20, 2021, Bruce passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, in his sleep.  Born on January 27, 1948, in Seattle, Washington to the late Lester W. and I. Danella Trager, Bruce was a proud alumnus of the University of North Dakota, where he played football. He was a commercial airline pilot, farmer, and businessman. His career took him to live in a number of communities, including Lima, Ohio, Lathrop, Missouri, Scottsdale, Arizona, Grand Forks, North Dakota, and, most recently, Fort Worth, Texas. Bruce was heavily involved in each of these communities, as a member of organizations such as Rotary International, Chamber of Commerce, Booster Club, and his church. Bruce was a devoted father, Papa, and loyal friend. He nurtured his daughter Tiffiny and her interests in athletics, business, flying, and family. An avid sports fan, hockey and Formula I racing were Bruce’s particular passions. His love for animals and the outdoors meant he could often be found hiking with a favorite dog on a northern woods trail, down the Grand Canyon, or just around the neighborhood. He enthusiastically shared his interests with his two grandsons who he adored and in whose lives he played an active part. Bruce’s sense of humor, contagious laughter, constant shenanigans, and profound kindness will be sorely missed by his friends, family, and the countless individuals whose lives he has touched. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Tiffiny and Joshua Boschee of Fort Worth, Texas, his grandsons
Grant William and Reid James Boschee, by his sisters Sylvia Trager of Seattle, Washington and Suzanne Ortega of Washington DC, and by his loving nieces and nephew Tamara Ortega Goodspeed, Corinne Ortega, Benjamin Ortega, and their families. A memorial service to celebrate Bruce’s life will be held later this fall.

In lieu of flowers, the family will be collecting donations and directing funds to local youth hockey organizations.
