In Memory of Brilyn Dorothy Anderson

We are the families of Ross and Emily Anderson, and we are seeking financial assistance for the medical care of their daughter, Brilyn.

Emily and Ross have been married for 4 years; together they have made a beautiful family. They welcomed Charlotte (Lottie) in 2020 and Leni in 2021. They shared the exciting news of welcoming a third daughter with family and friends in early 2022 (yes, Ross loves being a girl dad!). Brilyn was born to them on September 22, 2022, and she was the perfect addition to their family. Our extended family enjoyed getting to meet Brilyn and congratulate the Anderson's on their newest daughter.

From the beginning, Brilyn was frequently at the clinic to address her heightened bilirubin levels with her medical care team at Mayo in La Crosse. Ross and Emily worked very diligently to follow medical advice to lower her levels, and things were working!

On October 6, 2022, Brilyn was observed to start refusing to eat and have trouble breathing regularly. Emily rushed Brilyn to the Mayo Clinic ER in La Crosse. Brilyn was diagnosed with pneumonia, and it was determined she would need more intensive care and was transferred via ambulance to Gundersen PICU in La Crosse. Ross and Emily were by Brilyn's side at the PICU awaiting further answers and praying for their baby's safe return home. While at Gundersen, Brilyn continued to decline in health, so another transfer was ordered to Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Mayo One's flight team helped stabilize Brilyn for the helicopter flight, and Ross and Emily are forever grateful for their expertise and care.

Mayo Clinic in Rochester gave Brilyn the expert care she deserved, but the infection was just too strong for her little body. Ross and Emily had to make a heartbreaking decision to put their daughter first and help her be comfortable once it was determined that Brilyn's liver was indeed failing and she wasn't strong enough to survive a transplant surgery.

Your financial donations will help the Anderson's with medical expenses as they are expected to be abundant. Brilyn's care consisted of a ventilator, ECMO, dialysis, ultrasounds, CT scans, ambulance and helicopter transfers.
