In Memory of Brian Stangle

This is the story of Brian Stangle, our son, father, brother, uncle, and dearest friend.  He passed unexpectedly at the all too young age of 34 on Thursday April 4, battling the demons that are present in today's world.  Our hopes are to raise the necessary funds to provide for a funeral and for the future of his princess, Eva.

Brian was human, and just like each and everyone of us, he was not perfect.  Sure, he made his share of bad decisions, both with finances and recreation, the latter of which was his demise.   But he never let this define him as an individual.  Those that loved him and knew him do not let this define him.  He is defined by his sincere love and devotion to others.

The apple of Brian's eye was and forever will be Eva.  He loved his princess and she loved her Daddy.  Eva is 3 1/2 years old and her one desire is for Daddy to have his glasses so he can see his way around Heaven.  She knows how important those are to him, having broke several pairs of them on accident when they would play.  She wants the best for her Daddy in his new home of Heaven.  Eva is in excellent hands with her mother, Elizabeth who is faced with the daunting task of raising Eva without Daddy and his glasses.

Brian was Mom's care bear from day one.  Growing up he was her shadow, always looking for that extra hug and kiss.  He was Mom's baby that she always protected at any cost.  From cornering a kid who was bullying him in 4th grade to helping him raise his princess, Mom was always there, through good times and bad, to keep an eye on her care bear.

Brian was an interesting brother to have.  He and I were polar opposites.  That didn't stop Brian from being a loving and caring brother.  We fought, like brothers do.  We have our fair share of wrestling enactment stories, who hit which home run in the backyard, and epic 3 point shooting contests in basketball.  Growing up, he was my partner in crime, the daredevil that showed me how to dive off a diving board, do tricks on my bike, and how to have a good time.  I am mad that he never showed me how to throw crazy spin on a bowling ball.    As we grew older, we grew further apart, and had our differences of opinion on many things.  But we always that unconditional love and I could always count on him to tell an embarrassing story about me.

Brian always had a zest for life.  With his ear to ear grin and his famous cackle of a laugh, he also left everyone with a smile.  Anyone that knew Brian, and even some that have heard of his legend, have at least one memorable Brian story.  These were the trademarks of his personality that drew one as his friend.  His undying devotion, love, humor, and work ethic retained you as his friend.

In the recent days since Brian's passing, his mother and I have begun the process of arranging his funeral and burial.  This is no easy task and nothing that I wish upon anyone.  Brian had no life insurance, no funds devoted to funeral expenses, and no funds for the future of his princess, Eva.  It is my sincerest hope, that through the effort of this page and the good will and good nature of those that knew Brian, we can raise the funds necessary to cover his funeral expenses and help provide a brighter future for his princess.

I extend my greatest thanks and appreciation for all who read Brian's story and made a donation.  I ask that you never take a moment for granted with a loved one.  I ask that you always reach out and assist those nearest and dearest to you as they navigate through the waters of life.  I ask each individual to be smart, be safe, and be kind.  Everyone that knew and loved Brian has an insurmountable void that is now left in our hearts.  I hope, if nothing else, Brian's story helps you to do something to put a smile on someone's face.
