A Bench Memorial for Brian Schafer

Donation protected

My brother, Brian, died in a work-related accident. He was only 21. He was buried alive under gravel and sand and his body was found by another worker seeing one of his limbs sticking out from the bin on the hopper.
His death was tragic.
He was my only sibling. I felt the pain but it affected my parents the worst. They lost their only son.

Brian grew up in Warman, SK. He went to school here. Was in Boy Scouts here. His first job was at the local gas station - which is where many people got to know him from.  Warman is his home town and is now also his resting place.

My brother left behind for us his dog, Lucky - who is in the picture with him. His dog was a big part of his life and now Lucky is a big part of ours.

After Brian died, my parents wanted to get a bench put up, preferably at the dog park, to keep the memory of Brian alive. However they found out the cost to do this is out of our range.

Lucky uses the dog park ALL the time. And my parents would feel so blessed in knowing that Brian is remembered in his home town.

The money raised here will go directly towards the purchase of a bench with a plaque from the City of Warman to put up in the dog park.

#2 - Brian was nicknamed 'Ape' because of his hair. Monkeys and Ape's can be found randomly at his gravesite.
