This fundraiser has been created on behalf of the Lopez family.
Brenda had a big family who loved her very much! Her family consisted of her husband Jonas Lopez, her mother, two sisters, three brothers, 11 nieces, seven nephews, four great nieces, seven great nephews, and so many more she considered extended family members.
Her sister Bonnie has four children and she was like a second mom to them, always loving them and taking them whenever she possibly could. She was so good with all the children and she would have been the best mom.
Brenda and her loving husband Jonas did many things together; their favorite thing was to fish together. They would stay out til sometimes four in the morning, having the best time. He once asked her if she believed in love at first sight, she looked at him and laughed-- that laugh always made him smile. She enjoyed shopping, the beach, and spending as much time with her family that she could and that included her patients. She loved her cats and enjoyed buying new toys and treats for them. Just to see them play warmed her heart.
Brenda loved helping and working with others. She worked in an elderly nursing home where she was the activity director and worked in social services there. Her patients became her extended family, and she loved each one of them very much. She loved having outings with them or even just taking walks and having conversations. She did not consider it a job because she enjoyed going everyday and spending time there helping and just talking with them.
Brenda was a person that you could call at anytime, for anything, even if it was just to talk. She had a big heart that was willing to do anything in her power to help others in need.
She had a roller-coaster of a ride with her health. She had a triple bypass surgery and it went crazy from there. Brenda also had issues with her lungs and was diagnosed with diabetes. It was up and down for the past several years with her health, but we all thought she was getting better, when out of the clear blue on January 23rd, 2021 with no warning, she passed as her husband held her in his arms. The family is devastated- it was so unexpected.
A coffin has already been kindly donated, but the Lopez family is still facing expected costs of $10,000 for the funeral. Please consider donating to help provide much needed assistance to the Lopez family. Your help in sharing this on social media is also greatly appreciated.
