In Memory of Bradley Kilner
Bradley Kilner was one of those rare people who could walk into a room full of strangers and leave with a group of friends. He had a natural warmth about him that drew people in and a sharp sense of humour, that often resulted in winding up Rob Bloomfield. He never took himself too seriously and he had a gift for making people want to be around him.
Bradley was a footballer at heart. He started out at Wakefield City FC before going on to play semi-professionally for clubs across the north of England, eventually coming back to play locally with his friends at Shepherds Arms FC in Horbury. The game was always about more than just football for Bradley. It was about the people, the banter in the changing rooms, and the friendships that came with it.
On the 2nd September 2025, we lost him. He was deeply loved and is deeply missed.
On Saturday 18th July 2026, on what would have been the day before his birthday, his friends and family are coming together to celebrate his life with a charity football match between Wakefield City FC and Shepherds Arms FC at West Yorkshire Sports and Social Club in Wakefield. There will be activities for families, food, live music, a DJ, a tombola and an auction.
Every penny raised will go directly to Andy's Man Club, a peer-to-peer support group helping men across the UK talk openly about their mental health. It is a cause that could not feel more fitting.
If Bradley's story resonates with you, please come down on the day and be part of it. If you can't make it, a donation means you can still be a part of his story. No amount is too small. Please help us celebrate Brads name and support the other men who need it most.
If you or someone you know is struggling, Andy's Man Club meets weekly across the UK. Find your nearest group at andysmanclub.co.uk. You are not alone.
