My name is James Oates and I'm asking everyone to help raise funds for our friend Bobby King. The money will go directly to his wife and family to help with medical bills, living expenses, and funeral expenses.
Bobby King passed away on March 22 at approx. 4:50 pm. He was diagnosed with bile duct/liver/pancreatic cancer at the beginning of this year. He leaves behind a wife of 46 years, Lainey King; children Bobbie Elaine, Brian, and Ashley. He has been blessed with grandchildren, and they loved visiting with Bobby. He loved working on his land, rebuilding car engines, and basically anything he could get his hands on. He spent his last years at Garland ISD Student Nutrition Department working on refrigeration and various projects at the district. He was a man of many talents, and when you needed something fixed that no one could figure out, you called Bobby!
Bobby wasn't only a great worker, he was a great man. He was a very quiet man but would give his opinion when asked. He was never a stranger to anyone and ended up with friends everywhere he went. His connections to his community run deep, and connections within the school district were no exception. The people Bobby encountered on a day-to-day basis would comment on how friendly he was and how they felt like they knew him for a long time.
Bobby always cared for his wife and family and never wanted them to want for anything. All donations will go directly to the family as they begin this transition of life without Bobby. Any amount would be a blessing to them.
