In Memory of Bill Bartok

William (Bill) McCallum-Bartok passed away on Thursday, October 6th, 2022, at the age of 61. This GoFundMe has been set up to help cover the cost of his cremation and memorial service.

Most people who knew Bill have fond memories of him as the life of the party, rocking out to Journey and Jimmy Buffet, and caring deeply about his family. While he was a complicated person, with complicated relationships, he leaves behind friends and family who are striving to cherish the memories they have of his good days.

Bill was often found in the kitchen cooking for people, from his famous Buffalo wings on Monday Night Football parties to homemade pizzas he made with his daughters to all of the delicious meals he created for his very own restaurant, Napoli Cafe & Wine Bar. He often showed his passion, creativity, and love through feeding others.

Rising from a difficult childhood in foster care, Bill’s ambition brought him to great heights in life. He was so proud of himself for creating his own paradise beside the backyard pool with a view of Folsom Lake, a house big enough to entertain his friends and family in. He dreamt of owning a burgundy Porsche 911, going from a picture tacked up on a bulletin board to driving his daughters to the movies in that very car years later. He accomplished his dream of owning and operating his own restaurant, and though it was short-lived, it was a dream accomplished nonetheless. He set his sights high, and got to see many of his dreams brought to reality, a feat few often achieve.

But beyond his ambition and material gains - his daughters remember him most for the loving moments together. The big bear hugs, the warm brown eyes, the pride he took in us. From acing a simple elementary school spelling test to taking a lead role in the school play to earning a college degree, no feat was too big or too small to make Bill proud. He filled his daughters with self-worth, confidence, and conviction to stand in their values.

That said, he did not leave much of a financial inheritance behind to cover the costs of his death. The proceeds of this GoFundMe will go toward his cremation at Green Valley Mortuary & Cemetery, as well as planning his Memorial Service, which will be held in El Dorado Hills, CA, April-May 2023. His daughters, Breanne & Alexys, appreciate any amount that can be given to lighten the load of his passing - no amount is too small.
