Bernadette Ortiz (maiden name Flores, also known as Robles) passed away on December 19 after suffering a heart attack on December 16. She remained in the ICU until her passing. Bernadette spent her final days in the hospital where she dedicated 44 years of service—Pomona Valley Hospital—where she lovingly assisted in the birth of countless newborns.

Christmas is a season filled with beauty and emotion, and the loss of a loved one during this time is especially heartbreaking.

Affectionately known as Bernie, she was an angel on earth long before becoming the angel who now watches over us.

Born 67 years ago to Inez and Albert, Bernadette is survived by her loving mother, Inez; her devoted husband, Richard; and her three sons, Dominick, Eliso, and Jake. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Serina, Roman, Ryan, Abigail, Andrew, Robert, Rodney, Havi, Geno, and Mariah; her siblings, Carlos, Adrian, Rudy, and Romana; and her recently reunited siblings, Felicia, Albert, and Alfonso.
