Mary Van and Peter Long has been expecting their first child together due in May 2022, this news of the pregnancy has been long overdue as many who knows them, know how amazing they are going to be as parents to this baby boy with how they well they are with nieces, nephews, friend’s children, and even pets. Overall, just all around genuine good people.
On January 7th, Mary went in for a regular visit and was immediately admitted to find out she was already dilating too early, she was given the heartbreaking decision to choose to keep baby boy in knowing the risks of infection that it can cause herself or deliver the baby with the chances of survival at 22 weeks. With hope, faith, and many prayers they decided to give their all and keep baby in and hope baby will stay in as long as possible. It was an up and down roller coaster those following days as she was admitted and placed on restrictions and hospitalized while baby was being monitored. Her water abruptly broke and had to undergo emergency delivery.
Grey Long held on until his 23 week gestation age. He was born on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 0010 and weighing 1 pound. The Neonatal team tried multiple intubation attempts, but baby Grey was not responding well to resuscitation. There are no words to explain the unbearable pain of losing a child, let alone her first child.
Friends, family, and to whomever would like to honor and show their support for Mary and Peter during this time of grief in the passing of their just born baby Grey, we are asking for donations to help assist with expenses for a headstone for baby Grey and any additional expenses incurred to the parents of Grey during their stay in the hospital.
