Hello, I am Mrs. Weber, the principal at St. Gertrude the Great School It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of an amazing young man and former St. Gertrude alumni, Atticus Maldonado.
Atticus was only 18 years old, yet the impact he made in his short life was profound. A member and student of St. Gertrude the Great and St. Pius X–St. Matthias Academy, Atticus lived his life with a deep and visible faith in God. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing him witnessed a young man who carried himself with purpose, kindness, and devotion.
He was blessed with a loving and faithful family who guided and supported him throughout his life. Atticus found joy in simple but meaningful things—his love for race cars, his time on the baseball field, and the relationships he built along the way. He brought light into the lives of those around him, and that light will not be forgotten.
While his time here was far too short, Atticus lived it with intention and faith. His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.
We are asking for support to help his family during this incredibly difficult time. Donations will go toward funeral costs and uncovered medical expenses. Any contribution, no matter the amount, is deeply appreciated, as are your continued prayer and support for Atticus and his family.
Thank you for helping honor Atticus’ life and for standing with his loved ones. God bless you all.
