On November 27th, 2025, our community suffered the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Curtis Ashley Linden, or as loved ones knew him, Ash. Over the course of just four days, Ashley’s health declined rapidly. What began as a sudden heart attack led to emergency surgery on his heart valves. He was placed on ECMO, a form of life-support in order to give his heart and lungs a chance to heal, but the strain on his body was too great. Rylie and Piper were forced to make the difficult decision to make their dad comfortable in his final hours. 

 Ashley was an incredible father, friend, brother, teacher, and role model. He is and will always be known for his incredible smile and ability to light up any room he walked into. He had a fantastic sense of humor and undeniable wit, and the precious ability to make your cheeks hurt from smiling too hard. In addition to his amazing personality, he was a light in his fifth grade classroom dedicating 27 years to the students of Peterson Elementary. 

 Outside of the classroom, he was an avid lover of photography, writing, jewelry, art, music, and his dog Winston. Above all, Ashley had enormous amounts of love and pride for his two daughters. His ability to be a fiercely active part of their lives alongside their mom Seanna has always been one of the best parts of him. From attending every volleyball game, to teaching alongside Rylie, and visiting Piper in Santa Barbara, he has been a constant and comforting presence in their lives no matter the distance. Memories of shopping trips, family dinners, sporting events, beach vacations, and lots of inside jokes are all thanks to Ashley. 

 The decision Rylie and Piper had to make is one that no one should have to. With the suddenness of Ashley’s passing, this GoFundMe has been created to support the Linden family through this unimaginable loss. Your generosity will help ease the immediate financial challenges that come with funeral arrangements, outstanding bills, and the many expenses that arise during such a difficult transition. This will allow Rylie and Piper the space to grieve, heal, and honor the extraordinary life Ashley lived.
