In Memory of Arturo Jiménez

Friends and family who knew and loved our beloved Arturo:

As you may already know, on Monday (3/8/2021) we tragically lost a very precious person in our lives. Arturo Jiménez was a loving father, son, husband, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend who left behind his wife, Ana, three sons, Arturo, Victor, and Daniel, granddaughter, Liliana, and dozens of family and friends grieving. Those of you who knew him will remember him for his beautiful smile and genuine laughter but above all his loving heart.

Unfortunately, Arturo was taken from us after a prolonged but valiant fight with Covid-19 and its aftermath. His son Victor shares a few words about his battle: "Shortly after our dad contracted Covid-19, he began exhibiting dangerous symptoms. It was at that moment that we agreed as a family to rush him to the hospital with the belief that in a day or two he would return to us. Unfortunately, that was not the case because two days later we learned that he was in danger of going into cardiac arrest from the lack of oxygen to his lungs. The doctors advised him that intubation was required and without it they could only foresee him lasting a couple days. Our dad chose against intubation. As he put it, he preferred to spend his last days alert and communicating with us over the phone instead of being sedated and possibly never waking up again. One long and arduous month later my dad was able to turn his health around enough to allow him to finally return home. Less than 24 hours later my dad was rushed back to the hospital. That same night the long-dreaded intubation was performed on my dad. Two weeks later his kidneys gave out and one day later, on March 8th, his heart stopped and he peacefully passed at approximately 7:30am. It is my belief that it was God who allowed our dad to return home for those short 24 hours - God wanted our dad to see us one last time face-to-face to say goodbye before God finally took him to heaven. My dad has left so many broken hearts all over and will truly be missed by everyone who knew him.”

We are grateful to those who can contribute to Arturo's funeral expenses. All contributions will be used to ease the financial burden for his wife and sons from this unforeseen loss. No amount will diminish their suffering, but it can have a huge impact on their ability to move forward.

We thank all of you who have reached out to us during this difficult time and have shared your condolences. We love you all from the bottom of our hearts.
