Honoring Art: Help Us Give Him the Farewell He Deserves

On Saturday February 8, 2025, we lost a beloved husband, dad, grandpa. On his last day, he was surrounded by family and so much love. To know Art was to love him. Whether he gave you a bit of tough love or joked around with you, he welcomed everyone with open arms. He did what he loved for as long as he could: the best handyman, painter, floorer, and roofer. You name it, he’d get the job done. Before his handyman days, he was the best bus driver for 25 years. He enjoyed driving and simply meeting new people. He was known as “El Don”, “El Viejo” and “Grandpa” to all. His love could make one feel so warm and at home. A couple of years ago, he was diagnosed with cancer. He put up a good fight, but ultimately, it spread. We, as a family, take solace in knowing that he is no longer in pain and is at peace. Despite his illness, he remained the same man: grumpy but full of life, full of smart-ass jokes, but most of all, full of happiness, love, and courage. Nothing prepares a family for this pain, especially the financial burden it brings. We, Michelle Rodriguez and Melody Solache, are starting this GoFundMe to help ease the costs for my mother/ my grandma/ his beautiful wife, Clara Rodriguez. His last wish was to be remembered with a celebration of life, and he deserves nothing less. If you find it in your heart to help with anything, even if it’s just sharing this with family or friends, our family would genuinely appreciate it. Thank you all, and God bless.

A few words from Clara to her beloved husband.
"Mi companero de vida mi viejo, siempre dijo he hizo lo que quiso sin importanrle el que diran vivio a su manera y asi siempre sera recordado. Amando y preocupandose siempre por la familia y ayudando a los amigos. Descanse en paz nuestro querido viejito durmiendo el sueno eterno en el cielo con Dios y La Virgen."
