In Memory of Apollo Pham Castillo

Dear Friends and Family,
My name is Alice Pham and I am Apollo Castillo’s niece. I am organizing this fundraiser on my family’s behalf.
It is with our deepest sorrow to inform you all about our sudden loss of Apollo. Just this past week, Apollo began to feel unwell and was rushed to the ER on January 6th. He had difficulty breathing and experienced a stroke merely a few hours later. Within a matter of days, we discovered that the stroke was induced by Covid-19.
The doctors and staff at Whittier Hospital did their best to look after him, but unfortunately, Apollo passed away on January 9th, 2021 at around 5:20 PM. Aside from hypertension, he had no other chronic underlying conditions. He was only 49-years-old.
We would like to remember Apollo as more than a person who was taken from us by a vicious virus. Apollo is a compassionate and selfless individual. He is a loving and dedicated brother, uncle, partner, friend and lifelong nurse.
Apollo spent a lot of his time bringing people together and always put others’ needs before his own. He did so without ever complaining—it was simply in his character to give. He is known for being the life of the party and knew how to have a good time. If he were here today, he would tell us to not be sad and to focus on the positives.
On that note, we would like to memorialize Apollo’s passing as a celebration of his life. To honor him, we will have a socially-distanced, outdoor memorial service on February 19th, 2021 at Dignity Memorial located in Westminster, CA at Chapel #3 (link here & below for obituary details). His viewing begins at 8:00 AM, followed by a ceremony at 12:30 PM and ending with cremation at 2:00 PM.
Our family and I would greatly appreciate your efforts to help us spread the word. If possible, please consider donating, for we are hoping to fundraise $20K by early February to cover funeral costs and medical expenses.
