In Loving Memory of Andy Zhen
Update 10/30/19:
Hi everybody, my name is Jowee, Andy's daughter. I just wanted to start off by saying a big thank you to everybody that has already sent me and my family kind words and/or donations. We are all very grateful to have received such generosity and compassion during the hardest time of our lives. We lost someone very special to us. My dad was truly one of the most loving, caring and beautiful souls to have walked this earth. He was also without a doubt, one of the strongest people I have ever met. He held on and fought his cancers back to back for almost 5 years because he wanted more time with his family. We are thankful every single day for how long and hard he fought for us and we are just glad that he passed peacefully with his wife and kids right by his side.
My dad truly deserves a proper burial and memorial service and we are doing everything we can to reach our goal to give that to him. His wishes were to be cremated and have his ashes buried because he didn't want his body to return to the earth in the condition it was in with all the chemotherapy and radiation he had to endure. Unfortunately, the funeral home said that they will only be able to hold on to his remains for a month before they would have to release his remains to us until we can pay off the full amount of the service. It is bad luck and essentially not allowed in Chinese culture to have the remains of a deceased loved one in the home. All we want is to lay him to rest as soon as we possibly can. He has been fighting for so many years already, he deserves to finally rest and be pain-free.
Big or small, every single donation helps. Every single share of this page helps. Even just spreading the word helps us tremendously. Please help us give my dad the memorial service he deserves.
Thank you so much,
The Zhen family.

Hi this is Courtney and I will be speaking on behalf of the Zhen family. I regret to inform you that today, October 24, 2019, we lost Andy Zhen, Jowee’s father, after his ongoing battle with cancer for the past four years. He passed peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by family. He was a loving father, a devoted husband, and a selfless man to anyone he met. He was a light you could never forget, always making jokes while wearing the biggest smile that instantly made you smile back at him.
In March 2015, Andy was diagnosed with Stage 3 Nasopharyngeal Cancer. He had recovered and was in remission until February 2018, where he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Large Cell Neuroendocrine Cancer, mainly in the lungs. Unfortunately, after countless amounts of chemotherapy treatments, experimental trials, etc, Andy was declared a hospice patient in July 2019. He has discontinued further treatment since.
The majority of this fund will go to ensuring Andy has the proper burial he truly deserves. Anything remaining will go towards outstanding medical fees. Please send kind words to the family as they go through this impossible time. Of course no matter the amount, everything helps. Thank you.
With love,
The Zhen family.
