Andrew James Predis, age 32, beloved husband of Sarah (Durrer), passed suddenly and tragically in a roadway accident on Saturday August 5th, 2023 in San Pedro, California. Only months after their marriage began. Sarah is devastated and starting out on how to rebuild a new life.
Sarah Durrer and Andrew Predis married on March 23, 2023 in a beautiful ceremony with friends and family present. After 10 years together, they were finally continuing to build their life together.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
A lot of our friends and family have asked how they can help in this tragedy.
Andrew Predis was not only the love of her life, but also the primary breadwinner. There are bills, which Andrew normally would have taken care of.
HOW YOUR DONATION HELPS
DONATING would help Sarah have some breathing room to heal and not worry about all the financial challenges that often come with a sudden tragedy. Specifically:
- Bills left behind: Geico insurance, Internet, etc.
- Rent
- Food and Supplies
- Mental Health/Therapy
- Their Pets: Indy (Indiana Jones, the cat, 7 months) Opal their 2-3 year old dog.
A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THEIR STORY
Born in Pittsburgh and raised in northwest Pennsylvania, Andrew graduated from Cathedral Prep in Erie, PA in 2009 and went on to live a life of adventure and travel, eventually settling in California as a construction superintendent.
He met Sarah, the love of his life, while she was attending Allegheny College in Pennsylvania. Together they moved to Pasadena, California, and married in a beautiful and heartfelt ceremony on the beach of Hawaii's North Shore in March 2023.
Andrew was an adventure-seeker from the start. He thrived on adrenaline and the feeling of living life to the fullest, always looking for the tallest cliff to dive, the brightest reef to snorkel, the highest mountain to board, and the fastest car to drive. He was a skilled chef, an avid golfer, and a pretend football fan.
As family and friends would describe him, "Everyone probably thought of Andrew as their best friend. It's just how he made you feel when you were around him."
We welcomed friends and family to grieve with us on Friday, August 11th at Woodlawn Cemetery (1847 14th St, Santa Monica CA 90404), and laid him to rest with a funeral mass at St. Monica Catholic Church (725 California Ave, Santa Monica CA 90403) on Saturday, August 12th. A memorial service will be held in Pittsburgh, PA at a later date.
Pittsburgh Event in September 2023 To be Announced.
