In Memory of Amy Stiltner Huber

Amy was a beautiful soul taken from the world this week, much too early at the young age of 30.  She was a loving mother, daughter, wife, sister and friend and was cherished by many.

The members/alumni Sigma Delta Tau sorority at York College are coming together to bring a little light to Amy's family in a hard time by contributing to a college fund for Amy and Scott's son Braeden, which is being set up in her memory.

Amy and Scott unfortunately also suffered the loss of their daughter London less than one year ago, and Amy was passionately working to keep her memory alive through a non-profit called London's Legacy.

Amy shared the purpose and plan for London's Legacy in the following post:

"For our Angel London Brielle. To give back to children and parents that find themselves in a similar situation.
It has been a very trying year and now that 2016 is behind us, we are looking for ways to "give back" to the community in London's honor.
For our first year in honoring London, I have reached out to The University of Maryland Pediatric ICU of the hospital in Baltimore which is where London spent her last 3 days here on earth to see what we could do to "give back".
One of the most special tokens I received during my time of sorrow in the hospital was a handmade fleece blanket that I wrapped London in and held her in it for her last days alive. I was then able to take that blanket home and sleep with it for many nights as it embraced her smell and brought me comfort in my grieving process.
So, on January 21st, a number of our friends and family are going to be making blankets to take up to the hospital for other families to use for this same purpose. We plan to make at least 60 of them as that is the number of children that the hospital can accommodate in the Pediatric ICU at any given time.
In addition, since My mother and I spent three long nights in that hospital without any of the necessary hygiene needs due to the state of emergency blizzard conditions, and the circumstances that we were faced with. In a time such as this where no parent thinks it will be them. When I became a parent I was blinded by the monumentuous task of loving such a delicate, small, yet one of the most complex and resilient miracles on earth -my baby. In a time of panic when time seems to stand still yet you know it can't go fast enough. We choose to recklessly grab anything in sight and stuff them in our pocket leaving behind the items we may actually need but seem so pointless in that second.... we also thought it would be nice to make up small bags for families that find themselves in a similar situation at the hospital while not wanting to leave their child's side, to include what we needed most such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, wipes (to wash their faces), tylenol or advil, gum, comb, kleenex, shampoo, mouth wash, pens, snacks, water, pads of paper, word search books, coloring books etc."

Amy planned to deliver the items around January 25th (the day London became an angel!) along with luncheon platters, salads, dessert etc. for the doctors and nurses who work so hard to try to keep children alive everyday as a special thank you, and remembrance of their angel - London Brielle Huber.

The family would very much like to keep London's Legacy going but, because it is not an official non-profit yet, they are unable to take cash donations at this time. If you would like to contribute to London's Legacy in addition to the “Braeden Scott Huber Dream Fund” college fund, you can help by providing blankets and care packages to children and families in local PICU's such as the one at UMBC.  Feel free to contact Amy's mom, Karen Hardesty Stiltner for more information.

We would love your support with any donation that you are able to give.
