Many of you don’t know me, but we have one thing in common, in some way Amirae (Ami) Hoglund (Griffin) touched our lives. Ami lost her brief battle with a rare, aggressive cancer on October 7 having only been diagnosed mere weeks earlier. She was bright and compassionate, a loving wife and mother. If you knew Ami, the first thing that likely comes to mind is her infectious smile.

Ami and Brian (my nephew) welcomed a beautiful baby girl last December. This last month of processing Ami’s diagnosis and navigating aggressive treatment, followed by the loss of Ami has been unbearable for them and their family and friends. During her last few weeks she spent many days in hospital including the last 8 days.

We are collecting donations to help Brian with medical bills and final arrangements. Not fully knowing the totality of the hospital bills, our goal is to raise $10,000. We may update this goal after more is known. Any gifts received that are above medical and final arrangement costs will go directly to their baby girl’s care as her dad transitions to single parenthood.

Small gifts and simple acts of kindness will amount to one tremendous impact for my nephew and grandniece. Our hope as a family is to help Brian with this so that he can fully focus on loving and raising their precious daughter. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
