With heavy hearts, we share the unexpected passing of Amalia Hernandez, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Amalia was a woman full of life, love, and laughter—a soul who touched everyone she met. She was the heart of her family, always showing love through her cooking, filling the house with warmth and delicious meals. She had a thrill-seeker’s spirit, never turning down the chance to ride a roller coaster, and she found so much joy in shopping for little treasures. She also had a special love for plants, nurturing them as she did the people around her, always making sure everything and everyone flourished
Amalia fought bravely against cancer, but her battle came to an unexpected end, leaving her family and loved ones heartbroken. As we navigate this difficult time, we want to give her the beautiful and dignified farewell she deserves.
Amalia went through so much in such a short time. She survived an induced coma, only to be diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer months later. She bravely endured chemo and radiation, but her health declined rapidly. She suffered multiple mini-strokes, blood clots, and severe pain, eventually losing brain function. She was placed in hospice care and passed away just two days later.
We, the Alas/Romo-Hernandez family, are reaching out to our community for support in covering funeral expenses. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help us honor her memory and lay her to rest with the love and respect she so greatly deserves.
We deeply appreciate every donation, please share. Thank you for your kindness and generosity during this time of loss.
With gratitude,
The Alas/Romo-Hernandez Family
