In Memory of Alma Fenton

Alma’s Fundraiser

On the 5th of January 2022, the beautiful Alma Fenton lost her battle to Pancreatic cancer. Alma was a loving wife to Denis, a wonderful mother to Isabel and Alan, and an incredible friend to so many people.

Alma touched the lives of everyone she met in a positive way. She was talented, she had an eye for fashion, a love for art and a radiant smile that lit up every room. She had a unique sense of humour and the love she had for her family and friends was incredible. The whole community of Castleyons and her beloved Ballysaggart have been left heartbroken since her passing.

Alma had an avid love for sport and spent a great deal of of her time supporting Castleyons GAA and Camoige Club and of course the Déise. At each match her famous roar of encouragement could be heard above all others.
She was one of the clubs biggest supporters and her presence will always be felt when a Castleyons team takes to the field.
Alma was involved in drama with the Barrymore Players and enjoyed running with St Nicholas Atheltics Club. She got involved in everything she possibly could.

She had a positive infectious outlook on life, which she passed on to everyone she met. She battled cancer with courage and hope for 15 months and Alma’s passing has left a huge void in all of our lives.

During Alma’s battle, she was blessed to have received such wonderful care from the amazing nurses in the Irish Cancer Society. One of her nurses Margaret O’Riordan supported the Fenton family in every way possible and she has become a forever friend to the family.

Alma’s legacy will live on forever and in memory of her, her family would love to raise funds and give back to the Irish cancer society in recognition of their tremendous support in Alma’s final days.
A number of Alma’s family and friends will be taking part in the Cork Half Marathon on June 5th of this year and we are setting up this Go Fund Me page to raise much needed funds for the aforementioned Irish Cancer Society. Your kind donations will forever be appreciated.
