In memory of Allan Stevenson
Donation protected
A pillar of so many communities, Allan Stevenson sadly passed away earlier this month.
Allan died peacefully in his sleep at home. His unexpected passing has been a shock for all of us, particularly his close friends, his colleagues in Nubar and most of all to his beloved sister Lejan and family back in South Africa. A memorial service will be held as soon as Allan’s family are able to secure visas and travel to Ireland. Details of the service will be announced via RIP.ie.
Allan was such a large and vibrant presence to all who knew him. In DCU, he was a familiar face to so many during his time as a student, a Students’ Union representative, an active part of many clubs & societies, and of course as our favourite bartender in Nubar.
Beyond DCU, he was also well known in the motorbiking community and to the many security and events staff he worked with while catering at concerts and festivals across the country.
Allan’s family are in the process of organising visas and travel to Ireland, as well as managing the cost of a memorial service and associated expenses when they arrive. We are hoping to raise €1,000 or more to send to Allan’s family, covering as much of the financial impact as possible.
Allan looked after so many of us during his time here — we really just want to pay it forward and look after Allan’s family as they navigate his loss.
If you aren’t in a position to donate, no worries. Feel free to share this with your friends who knew Allan and keep an eye on RIP.ie for news about the memorial service.
