This fundraiser is to honor the memory of Alexis Janae Montez affectionately called "Volcano" by those who loved her.  The purpose of the fundraiser is to help her mother, Felicia, aka “Jackie Blu” offset costs associated with the unexpected loss of her child Alexis.

Alexis was only 26-years-old .  

On Thursday, October 29, 2020 while crossing the street, our loved one was struck by a car.  Her life  was taken by a careless and distracted driver as he sped down Western Avenue in Los Angeles. She was hit while she was crossing the street at the corner of 75th Street; she was  meeting her mom who awaited her arrival on the opposite side of the street. It was supposed to be a time of celebration.

On the same day that her life was taken, she was promoted to Assistant Manager at Family Dollar on Vermont Avenue and Colden Street. She was scheduled to begin management training at her own store (on Western and Florence Avenue) the next day.  

She was high-spirited, fun-loving, and adventurous. Alexis was courageous, but she was also a "mama's girl"; Alexis was independent, but she also relied on her mama (and her aunties)!  Alexis did her own thing but she always had family in her heart. Alexis had friends wherever she went.  Alexis loved her life.

Now her family will honor her memory.
