IN MEMORY OF ALEX – SUPPORTING HIS FAMILY & CHILDREN
Following the heartbreaking loss of Alex, this fundraiser has been organised by ChaseTV for the family, with their agreement, after so many people kindly asked if there was a way they could contribute.
Alex was so much more than the circumstances in which we lost him. He was a much-loved dad to his two children, a son, brother, partner, friend and Armed Forces veteran.
His children and family meant everything to him. He loved deeply, and those closest to him knew just how much the people in his life mattered to him.
Alex was funny, kind-hearted and always willing to help others. He had previously volunteered his own time to travel abroad and help people affected by conflict get to safety. It was simply the kind of person Alex was. If he saw someone who needed help and there was something he could do, he wanted to help.
The incredible response when Alex went missing showed just how many people cared. People searched, shared appeals, checked CCTV and dashcam footage, offered equipment and resources, travelled to help and supported those closest to him through some of the most difficult days imaginable.
We also want to recognise the incredible support we received from the search and rescue volunteers who gave their time, experience and resources to help us. We will always be grateful for what they did for Alex and our family.
Having experienced first-hand just how important these volunteer teams are to families at times like this, we would also encourage people to continue supporting search and rescue organisations and the invaluable work they do in their communities.
Since Alex was found, many people have asked if there is a way they can continue to show their support. This page has been created for those who wish to do so.
Any contributions will go towards Alex’s funeral and related costs. This isn’t because his family cannot or will not meet these costs, but simply an opportunity for others who have asked to contribute and to help ease some of the unexpected pressures that come with losing someone so suddenly.
Should anything remain, the family would like to put it towards a lasting memorial for Alex and something special for his children, perhaps an experience or something meaningful through which they can remember and celebrate their dad.
There is absolutely no expectation to donate. This page simply gives those who have asked a way to contribute if they wish.
More than anything, we want Alex to be remembered for the life he lived, the people he loved, the people he helped and the memories he leaves behind.
Thank you to every person who searched, shared, supported, donated, sent messages and stood alongside Alex’s family. The extraordinary kindness and compassion shown to us is something we will never forget.
Rest peacefully, Alex.
