We are heartbroken to share the passing of Alex Mata, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, neighbor, and friend. Alex leaves behind his devoted wife and their four beautiful daughters, who were the light of his life. His family meant everything to him, and every decision he made was rooted in love for them.
Alex grew up in Longmont, Colorado. He was proud of his roots and proud of the community that shaped him. He worked tirelessly in the construction field for many years often long days, early mornings, and late evenings, always doing whatever it took to provide for his family. No matter how hard the day was, he always came home with a smile for his girls.
If you had the blessing of knowing Alex, you know he was full of life, conversation, humor, and heart. He could talk to anyone, anywhere, and make them feel like an old friend. He was the kind of person who would stop what he was doing to help a neighbor, fix something that needed fixing, or simply sit and listen. He was generous with his time, his kindness, and his presence.
Alex loved his dogs, his home, his family gatherings, and those small everyday moments that so many of us take for granted. He was a family man in every sense, proud, protective, deeply loving, and endlessly giving.
His passing has left a tremendous hole in the hearts of everyone who loved him.
As his family navigates this unimaginable loss, we are asking for your support. Any amount you are able to contribute will go directly to help his wife and daughters with funeral expenses, household needs, and stability during this incredibly difficult time.
Please keep his family in your prayers and thoughts.
Your kindness, shares, and donations mean more than words can express.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
May his memory be a blessing and may his love live on through his daughters.
