In Memory of Addison Xiong

It is with a heavy heart that we must convey the heartbreaking news of our dear son and brother, Addison's passing due to complications stemming from his battle with lung-related issues. Addison was born with Muscular Dystrophy, a condition that would have deterred most, but not him. Despite his physical limitations, he lived life to the fullest. At just 26 years old, he was a true creative soul, deeply passionate about creating, drawing, and painting. His love for art, music, storytelling, and humor was boundless, and his expressions of creativity were marked by care and dedication that were truly exceptional.
What made Addison truly extraordinary was his love for his family. His affection was beyond measure, and the way he loved was incomparable. He cherished moments spent with friends and family, and his remarkable listening skills allowed anyone to confide in him, knowing that he would lend an attentive ear until the very end. Yet, his virtues extended far beyond this. Addison was a wholehearted person, wearing his heart on his sleeve, radiating kindness, warmth, and sincerity. His soul was genuinely beautiful, and he was our guiding light through the darkest times.
Addison had been bravely battling pneumothorax since August 2022, enduring four surgeries in his relentless pursuit of life. His passion for drawing and his desire to be with his family motivated him. Above all, he yearned to continue living for himself. During our visits to the hospital, he revealed with sincerity, "If I were to pass, it's not death I'm afraid of. It's the people I love that I would leave behind that fears me the most." In his final surgery, pneumonia infected his left lung, causing it to fill with water. The collapse of this lung deprived his body of oxygen, leading to the tragic build-up of CO2 in his bloodstream.
Regrettably, Addison's battle came to an end on October 12, 2023. Now, we wish to bid our dear Addison a peaceful farewell. To support our family with the expenses associated with his funeral, we have initiated this fundraiser. We sincerely appreciate any contributions, as no effort goes unnoticed. We kindly request that you share this post to help us during this challenging time. Thank you from the depths of our hearts.
