IN MEMORY OF ADDISON HARTZLER

I was a friend of Addison and was shocked by what his father posted to Facebook this past week:

“On this very surreal Monday afternoon in June, I want to let you know that I miss my oldest son Addison whom I have loved and lost to death. I have few details to share as he died in the custody of the RCMP. My only peace in this moment comes in the fact that he knew that I loved him deeply and I know that he loved me profoundly in return.  Val and I, as well as Natalie, Ethan and Gabe, are mercilessly ravaged in the very early stages of this journey, which will ultimately be ours to experience. If you are a person of faith, and/or a person who “just loved our son tremendously," we would appreciate your thoughts, prayers, and support while you "stand in the gap" for all of us, while we cannot.”

Addison was a caring loyal friend to many. He was a warrior and protector of those close to him. He loved a good time and especially the opportunity to share a meal with friends or family, as he realized those special times would not always be there. Addie was a very hard worker and really had a skilled set of hands whether for lacrosse, barbering or building something at work.

If you had the opportunity to get to know Addison, you knew down deep he really had a big heart. If one needed help or something tangible you could count on him to come through. Addie loved his little dog Ace. Ace was his little buddy and car companion!

Addison was a champion for many & assisted numerous people in their rehabilitation. He had the ability to pass on his perseverance & determination to always “do better”.

I know that we are all at a loss of words to express our sorrow. What can we actually say to the Hartzler’s, there are no words. Many have asked “what can we do”.

This GoFundMe is “what can we do”! The funds raised here will go directly to the Hartzler family to:

Assist with the funeral & memorial service expenses; costs associate with obtaining Addison’s personal possessions & long term storage for them; provide long term counselling for the entire family; to pay for costs associated with obtaining answers to his death and seeing justice served; and finally to assist the entire family financially as each member will lose a lot of time at their work places as they go through this grieving time and in the months & years ahead with investigations & inquiries into Addison’s death.

Finally I know the Hartzler Family wishes to set up a Memorial Fund or Scholarship in Addison’s memory, so any funds raised and not required as mentioned above will go toward that Fund.

Please give as you can and pass this campaign on to as many people as you know. If you can not contribute please forward this GoFundMe on all your social platforms or by e-mail to those you know.
