KKG Scholarship in memory of Abby

On July 23rd, 2017 we lost our dear Kappa sister and friend, Abby Nicole Uecker, to a tragic UTV accident at the young age of 25. Abby was a certain kind of special. She was a beautiful, kind, funny, genuine, spunky girl with the most amazing talent. Abby had a fierce love for life and she captured the hearts of everyone with her vibrant smile. Abby was the lead singer of the band Abby Nicole & County Road. She was set to move to Nashville just a short month after her passing to continue her songwriting and performing career. Abby suffered from a brain tumor in 2014. Through her complete recovery she furthered her belief in living life to the fullest and chasing her dreams.
Abby was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln throughout her college years. She blessed all of her sisters with her friendship and voice and we are thankful for the many special memories we have with her. Our hearts are broken from this devastating loss, so we are looking forward to this opportunity to start a scholarship in Abby’s name. We are raising money to start a scholarship with the UNL Foundation to award to a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma each year. Our goal is to reach at least $30,000 so that we may start an endowment scholarship that will keep the memory of her around forever.
